BlurData is an exclusive macOS application designed for document redaction automation using artificial intelligence. Its primary function is to locate and permanently remove sensitive information from PDF files, screenshots, and images. Unlike traditional methods, BlurData does not rely on manual user selection; instead, it uses built-in AI models to identify data autonomously.

The tool's technology is based on a neural text recognition model capable of processing any scanned page or screenshot, even those lacking a digital text layer. Additionally, it employs a Named Entity Recognition (NER) model that identifies names of people, organizations, locations, and other sensitive data by analyzing context rather than relying on static lists.
