What is Caido?
Caido is an HTTP proxy built for security testing of web applications. It intercepts and reviews HTTP and WebSocket traffic, lets you replay and edit requests, and keeps each assessment in its own project. It's aimed at pentesters, bug bounty hunters and AppSec teams looking for a lighter alternative to Burp Suite.
Analysis tools
It ships with a full traffic history, a sitemap of discovered endpoints, a findings tracker for possible vulnerabilities and HTTPQL filters, a query language for searching requests and responses with precision. Match & Replace rules can rewrite requests or responses on the fly, and the Automate module runs attacks with custom payloads.
Workflows, plugins and AI
Workflows (passive, active or convert) automate repetitive jobs, from watching traffic to transforming data. A community plugin store, with dozens of extensions and tens of thousands of downloads, adds features such as 403 bypass or parameter discovery. On paid plans, an AI assistant can connect to the provider you already use (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI or others through OpenRouter), and agents can drive Caido through its Client SDK.
Install and teamwork
There's a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, plus a CLI for remote instances. The Team plan adds shared instances and reassignable licenses; Enterprise covers purchase orders, custom integrations and security questionnaires. Caido itself isn't open source, though many community plugins are.

Is it open source?
No. Caido itself isn't open source, though many community plugins are and the tool uses open formats where it can.

What data does Caido collect?
On signup: name, email and user-agent. When an instance connects to its cloud services: IP and API call activity. It doesn't collect data stored on your instances or your activity inside the app.
